HAMLET HOMES SHOWCASES IKEA PRODUCTS AT NEW DAYBREAK MODEL HOME

Hamlet’s townhome provides glimpse of IKEA products before Draper store opening in spring 2007

SOUTH JORDAN, UTAH (November 16, 2006) — Hamlet Homes’ new model townhome at Daybreak is the first home in Utah to fully feature the popular IKEA furniture line and interior design accessories (www.ikea.com) in its décor. Homebuyers can preview what the world’s leading home furnishing retailer will have to offer when IKEA opens its first Utah store in Draper next spring. A visit to Hamlet’s model townhome at Daybreak will provide a unique opportunity to experience this exciting line of attractive, durable and affordable furniture.

“To our knowledge, this is the only model home in Utah that is almost entirely furnished and decorated with IKEA home furnishings,” says David Irwin, Hamlet Homes’ vice president and director of marketing and sales. “We encourage homebuyers to drop by the model home for a taste of the IKEA home décor experience before the store’s anticipated grand opening in the spring of 2007.”
Hamlet’s interior designers were delighted to use the IKEA line. “Our objective was to showcase both the traditional and contemporary looks of IKEA,” explained the designers. “We also wanted to provide homebuyers with a decorating concept of mixing and matching items that are attractive, functional and affordable.”

Furnishings and décor items showcased at Hamlet’s townhome come from IKEA’s many collections. The family room set features a beautiful, corduroy couch and two linen chairs. The under cabinet organizer from the kitchen collection and the Stolmen post adjustable organizer from the home office set are perfect for keeping items organized. Upstairs in the master bedroom suite, homeowners can enjoy morning breakfasts with a rolling bed tray that stretches across the width of the bed. In addition, a maple cabinet paneling mounted on the wall adds a unique accent piece and perspective to the room. Across the hallway, the baby room features the IKEA garden nursery set and includes items such as distinctive flower and ladybug lighting fixtures.

Founded in 1943 in Sweden, IKEA offers a wide range of home furnishings and accessories that focus on excellent design and function, as well as affordable prices. The company is also known for its innovative pin-locking system, which allows homebuyers to easily assemble or disband furniture pieces to move them to different sections of the home or change the look of a room. Furthermore, IKEA is recognized as a socially responsible company and supports initiatives that benefit causes such as children and the environment.

In addition to IKEA’s furnishings and home décor, Hamlet’s model townhomes, the St. Andrew and Thornhill, feature elegant and large family rooms, a defined and arched entry foyer where homeowners can greet family and friends, and nine-foot ceilings. The kitchen showcases raised cabinets with crown molding, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, recessed can lighting, a large walk-in pantry and tile flooring. Each home also has a two-car garage.

The floor plans from Hamlet’s Scottish series are 1,727 square feet of finished space with a total of 2,523 square feet and include two to four bedrooms and up to three-and-a-half baths. The first phase of Hamlet’s two-story townhomes will consist of 51 homes. With prices starting in the $240s, these townhomes are an affordable option for families who want to live in Daybreak.

The townhomes in Eastlake also offer an ideal location in the Daybreak community featuring parks and open space, community gardens, top-rated schools, a community recreation center and one great big lake. IKEA is located just 10 minutes away in Draper.
