She has previously worked in Sales Positions including Maggie Sottero Bridal where she started in the office as a Factory Manager. She worked her way up to International Account Executive, where she handled National as well as International Bridal Accounts.

Amber enjoys traveling, being outdoors and spending time with her husband and three children.

Parks Galore for Family Fun
For families with children, two parks are within walking distance or a blink of a drive. Anzak Park is three blocks east at 1850 E. 7200 S., and offers a playground, tennis courts, and two baseball diamonds. Mountview Park, just four blocks north at 1651 E. Ft. Union Blvd, is a popular water park with two separate play areas for younger and older children, a water park/splash pad and lots of green space for outdoor sports.

Two miles from Buckhaven is the mother lode of Salt Lake County Parks in the Cottonwood Heights Recreation Center, located at 7500 S. 2700 E. (call 801-943-3190 or visit www.cottonwoodheights.com for hours and programs). This affordable, family fitness and recreation center offers extensive amenities including seven pools, an Olympic-sized ice arena, water playgrounds, water slides, 12 outdoor tennis courts, six racquetball courts, cardio and weight rooms, skate park, indoor track, full basketball court, and more than 80 fitness classes each week.

Next to the Rec Center is Butler Park, 7500 South 2700 East, and The Richard L. Guthrie Skate Park at 2415 East Bengal Blvd.  Butler Park offers a pavilion (with electricity) for 100 people with two charcoal grills, restrooms, water spout, tennis courts, volleyball courts, horseshoe pit, and children’s play area. The lighted Guthrie Skate Park is designed for beginning to intermediate skill levels, with a terrain that varies from bowls and ramps to rails and spines.

Crestwood Park, three miles away at 7485 S. Siesta Dr.(1700 East), is a large, 58-acre regional park with an outdoor pool and many amenities that include a large multipurpose grassy area, a pavilion that seats 75 and has a BBQ grill, and 11 picnic tables and benches with BBQ stands. The park also includes two tennis courts, two horseshoe courts, a small playground, restrooms, a 1.1 mile walking path that loops the park, and an equestrian trail at the north side of the park in the nature area.
And to add a touch of history to any outing, the working Wheeler Historic Farm is two miles north and has farm animals, picnic areas, historic tours of the farm house, wagon rides, cow-milking demonstrations, the Rosebud Country Store, a summer camp, and a summer farmer’s market.

The Great Outdoors and Greatest Skiing on Earth
Cottonwood Heights calls itself the ‘City between the Canyons’ – and indeed it is. Snowbird and Alta Ski Resorts in Little Cottonwood Canyon are a mere 13 and 14 miles away, respectively, while Solitude Mountain and Brighton Ski Resorts in Big Cotton Canyon are 16 and 18 miles, respectively. Winter downhill and cross-country skiing and snowshoeing are complemented by a plethora of summertime hiking, picnicking, camping, mountain biking and all sorts of outdoor activities.

Tee Time, Anyone?
Those who love the sport will love the Old Mill Public Golf Course, 4 miles from Buckhaven. Stunning views of the Salt Lake Valley can be seen from all points on this fun and challenging 18-hole course.

For serious retail and dining therapy, Buckhaven homeowners have it all at their fingertips. Shopping and eateries abound along Ft. Union Blvd (7000 S.), Union Park Avenue (a meandering 1300 East), East Park Center Dr. and at Fashion Place Mall, 6191 S. State St. After a day of shopping or a dinner out, movies are always popular at the Century 16 Union Heights at 7670 Union Park Ave.
