Two miles from Buckhaven is the mother lode of Salt Lake County Parks in the Cottonwood Heights Recreation Center, located at 7500 S. 2700 E. Siesta Dr.(1700 East), is a large, 58-acre regional park with an outdoor pool and many amenities that include a large multipurpose grassy area, a pavilion that seats 75 and has a BBQ grill, and 11 picnic tables and benches with BBQ stands. The park also includes two tennis courts, two horseshoe courts, a small playground, restrooms, a 1.1 mile walking path that loops the park, and an equestrian trail at the north side of the park in the nature area.
