HAMLET HOMES CELEBRATED GRAND OPENING OF INVERNESS SQUARE COMMUNITY IN MURRAY CITY

HAMLET HOMES CELEBRATED GRAND OPENING OF INVERNESS SQUARE COMMUNITY IN MURRAY CITY

Community modeled after New Urbanism and first to feature UTOPIA’s high-speed fiber optic technology

MURRAY, UTAH (April 17, 2006) – Hamlet Homes and Murray City celebrated a VIP grand opening – ‘Get Connected’ – on April 13 for Hamlet’s newest residential community, Inverness Square, a 105-townhome community located at 297 West Apple Cross Way (4800 South). Approximately 200 guests and VIPs from Murray City, Salt Lake County, UTOPIA (Utah Telecommunication Open Infrastructure Agency), MSTAR and Inverness Square homeowners joined with Michael Brodsky, owner and chairman of Hamlet Homes, and other Hamlet VIPs in an official ribbon-cutting ceremony. In addition, MSTAR showcased UTOPIA’s technology through a live video conferencing with VIPs in Provo and the Netherlands. “Inverness Square is a unique representation of the re-emergence of an urban Wasatch Front neighborhood,” said Dave Irwin, Hamlet Homes’ vice president and director of marketing. “Inverness is the first community of its kind in Murray City to feature the principles of New Urbanism, an attractively designed urban neighborhood that revitalizes an area through enhanced streetscapes, a sense of community and advanced technologies.” The community is built on acreage that is part of a former industrial site in Murray City now being redeveloped. In recent years, the neighborhood around 5300 South and State Street has undergone significant revitalization with the arrival of a new retail-shopping-dining complex, The Pointe at 53rd, and Intermountain Healthcare’s new flagship hospital, Intermountain Medical Center. In addition, residents of Inverness Square will enjoy many community amenities, including tree-lined sidewalks and a central common area for families, as well as close proximity to I-15, TRAX and Murray City schools. These areas help Inverness Square embrace the principles of “New Urbanism” through walkability, light rail and a mixed-use neighborhood. Hamlet’s townhome community will have an urban look and feel with brick and stucco exteriors. Elevations will resemble downtown residential areas of eastern communities like Boston and Baltimore. Federal-style architectural touches will extend to lighting and fencing, and black iron railings will border front stoops. Inverness Square is also the first new home residential community in Murray City to feature UTOPIA Community MetroNetTM’s high-speed fiber optic technology, providing residents with advanced voice, video and internet communications. Through its partnership with UTOPIA, Inverness Square’s Home Owner’s Association has contracted to provide homebuyers with the most-advanced, high-speed internet, phone and digital television through MSTAR.NET. Inverness Square offers homebuyers tremendous value with prices starting in the low $160s. The community is being built in two phases on a six-acre site and will be completed in 2007. The townhomes are available in two home styles, the Aberdeen and Turnberry, from Hamlet’s Pioneer Series. The Scottish names are derived from actual historic towns in Scotland, and the series’ name reflects the fact that new homeowners at Inverness Square can consider themselves pioneers in a brand new urban residential community. The Inverness Square Sales Center is open Monday – Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sundays from 12 noon to 5 p.m. To learn more about Inverness Square, contact Yosh Ryujin at (801) 261-0209 or visit Hamlet Homes at www.hamlethomes.com.
