Rock the Block Season 6: A Wild Ride with Hamlet Homes!

Episode 7: The Finale
Winners: Michel Smith Boyd & Alison Victoria

Well friends… you did it. You made it through Season 6 of HGTV’s Rock the Block—and what a season it was!

Were you surprised by the winning house? We were on the edge of our seats! Honestly, with appraised values so close and each home absolutely stunning in its own right, it could’ve gone any direction. That’s the magic of this show—and this season? Pure fire from start to finish.

Here at Hamlet Homes, we had the absolute honor of being the official builder for Rock the Block Season 6—and we’re still catching our breath. We’d never done anything like this before, and honestly? We probably never will again. It was fun, hard, hot, cold (sometimes in the same day), and packed with early mornings, late nights, and behind-the-scenes chaos that we wouldn’t trade for anything.

Lights, Camera… Chaos (and Coffee)
From the very first episode—hello helicopter dropping a ski chalet?!—to the final backyard reveals, we were in awe watching our homes transform into the wild, beautiful, and wildly beautiful visions of four incredible design duos. These homes sit on one-acre lots in beautiful Grantsville, Utah, and with views like that? You better believe they brought their A-game.

Let’s talk designers for a sec:

  • Chelsie & Cole (yes, from Down Home Fab fame!) were as fun in person as they are on-screen. And shoutout to their local love, grabbing cute cowboy hats from Pipsy Hats, a fave shop right here in Utah.
  • Tristyn & Kamohai brought heart, style, and aloha vibes—and a special connection to Utah that made their presence even more meaningful.
  • Alison Victoria & Michelle Smith Boyd, Season 4 royalty, brought the glam and the guts. Total powerhouses.
  • And of course… Jonathan & Jordan Knight (cue the inner 90s fangirl) whose New Kids on the Block flair added a little extra sparkle to the whole experience.

Behind the Scenes: The Real Story
Filming took place on a 10-acre set, which meant a lot of walking. From Video Village to the homes to the food tent to the designer trailers… let’s just say we got our steps in (especially after our pink golf cart—affectionately named The Pink Princess—got a flat tire). Bikes, golf carts, 4-wheelers, tractors—you name it, the crew used it.

We had surprise snowstorms, 80-degree days in October, and costume parties for Halloween. We celebrated Ty Pennington’s birthday with “Ties and Thai” (Jonathan Knight had to help with the tie part), and we may or may not have taken turns jumping on the set trampolines when no one was looking.

Oh—and a quick shoutout to Barry, our clock guy, who made sure every microwave and stove was perfectly synced in each house. It’s the little things.

Let’s not forget our furry MVP—Amanda’s dog—who completely stole the show on set. The crew couldn’t get enough of that pup.

Grantsville Pride & Hamlet Heart
We even had the Mayor and City Council of Grantsville come out to watch the filming! It’s safe to say this will always be a proud moment for our community.

One of the coolest parts for us? Watching how our Hamlet Homes layouts evolved into these incredible new versions, each home transformed by bold design choices. Some kept the original flow, while others took a total 180. One layout had a bathroom I was nervous about at first—but when I saw it all come together, I fell in love. Proof that sometimes you just need to trust the process.

Epic Views & Final Reveals
When the backyards were revealed—snow and all—it was clear just how magical these one-acre lots really are. Utah weather can be unpredictable, but the designers adapted beautifully. With mountains, lakes, and sunsets like these, the views alone make these homes jaw-dropping. Add in outdoor living spaces, greenhouses, and kid-friendly fun? These homes were made for real Utah living.

And yes, we might have placed a few bets on how much that greenhouse cost. I lost.

We had laughs, late-night giggles, energy drink-fueled chaos, and even an impromptu goat chase (don’t ask). But through it all, we were so proud to represent Utah, our team, and Hamlet Homes on this incredible journey.
