The first Hamlet company, Hamlet Development Corporation, was founded April 1994 with a vision of providing top quality value priced communities within Northern Utah. A top notch management team was assembled and four organizations were eventually founded to address almost every customer need related to the residential real estate market. The four organizations that comprised the Hamlet companies were Hamlet Development, Hamlet Homes, Stirling Mortgage, and Diversified Habitats. In November of 2011 Stirling Mortgage after 14 years of operations was a victim of the housing market collapse and was closed down. Diversified Habitats was wound down in 2008. In January 2017, Michael Brodsky, the founder of
Hamlet Homes and
Hamlet Development Corporation, sold
Hamlet Homes to four senior managers of the company. Barry Gittleman, President and COO
; Jon Southern, Vice President of Construction
; Phil Mosher, Vice President of Sales
; and Elliott Jenkins, Vice President and CFO, collectively took 100% ownership of
Hamlet Homes and created
Hamlet Homes IV
, a new organization in 2017 to reflect the new ownership.

The focus at Hamlet Homes continues to be “to provide attractively designed that will be a lasting value”. Hamlet Homes continues to see the need for innovation in our homes as new generations of home builders are upon us. Important details to homebuyers 10 years ago are no longer relevant to those today. However, we know there is a benefit to open spaces and storage for any size family, so we take into consideration a balance of what needs and wants all of our Hamlet Homebuyers would want and design, develop and customize our homes to their needs. While we are not a custom homebuilder, over the years we have learned a few of the details that are most important to almost everyone and made those standard items in all homes with the option to add to those items with personalized details. We know how important it is to a new generation of homebuyers that they save money, time and energy. This is important to use as we design efficient homes with energy-efficient appliances, windows, doors and also the option to include solar panels, and other safety and money saving features. At Hamlet Homes, we are committed to providing our homebuyers with quality, customer-oriented townhomes and single-family homes located in attractively designed neighborhoods in Northern Utah. Hamlet Homes is celebrating its 25
th year in Business in October 2020, and as of this year, has built over 3,700 homes in 63 communities. We continue to challenge ourselves to be better with thoughtfully designed homes that have lasting value for years to come. We live and breathe our motto internally and externally: Great Homes, Great People, Great Experience. Hamlet is committed to creating communities that are well planned and blend into the neighborhood diversity of a community.
