Our History

The first Hamlet company, Hamlet Development Corporation, was founded April 1994 with a vision of providing top quality value priced communities within Northern Utah.

Hamlet Homes was founded in 1995. Hamlet transitioned ownership from the founder in 2017 to the senior leadership team of Barry Gittleman, Elliott Jenkins, Jon Southern and Philip Mosher. As of January 1st, 2022, three new owners officially joined to make seven strong leaders. The addition of Tami Ostmark, John Peterson and Nate Kingdon, makes this the first time since 2017 that Hamlet Homes has added owners.

Barry Gittleman commented with; “We know that we have done many great things in the past five years with the new ownership team, but adding three more dynamic and strategic thinkers will only add to the foundation we have built. Our homeowners deserve the best we have to give them, and our team is dedicated to making that happen.”

The focus at Hamlet Homes continues to be “to provide extraordinary experiences by creating thoughtfully designed homes and neighborhoods.” Since the inception of our company, Hamlet Homes has provided over 4,000 families a place to call home. Hamlet Homes continues to see the need for innovation in our homes as new generations of home builders are upon us. Important details to homebuyers 10 years ago are no longer relevant to those today. However, we know there is a benefit to open spaces and storage for any size family, so we take into consideration a balance of what needs and wants all of our Hamlet Homebuyers would want and design, develop and customize our homes to their needs. While we are not a custom homebuilder, over the years we have learned a few of the details that are most important to almost everyone and made those standard items in all homes with the option to add to those items with personalized details.

We continue to challenge ourselves to be better with thoughtfully designed homes that have lasting value for years to come. We live and breathe our motto internally and externally: Great Homes, Great People, Great Experience.

Each home that Hamlet Homes Builds is an in-house custom design – designed with our homeowners in mind. From the very beginning idea of a home to the layout, details and architecture, our Architecture & Design Team takes care in developing, crafting, and designing homes that have the space that a person or family needs and wants. This is reflected in the process from initial design thoughts to design meetings, to design selections to the actual build out and walk through to change anything that needs to be enhanced or adjusted before we even being to sell the home.

This is a careful and deliberate process, and we are proud of every single home we have created and built in the past 28 years. Hamlet Homes was named BEST OF STATE seven times for Real Estate Development, Utah Business Best Place to Work for the past four years, Customer Insights Best Customer Service 2021, 2022 & 2023 HOME AWARD, National Housing Quality Award Bronze Medal and named on Professional Builder’s Housing Giants List again in 2023.

Hamlet is committed to creating communities that are well planned and blend into the neighborhood diversity of a community. Below is a summary of the past, active, and coming soon 76 Hamlet communities created to date:
