Grand Opening of Carlisle Place Community
Hamlet’s 36th community in 20 years meets increasing demand for new homes in Salt Lake County CITY OF SOUTH SALT LAKE, UT – Hamlet Homes (www.hamlethomes.com) is holding a Grand Opening celebration for the opening of two model homes at its newest townhome community, Carlisle Place in South Salt Lake, Friday and Saturday, Feb. 7 and 8. The company anticipates a significant turnout from interested home buyers at the event, which will run from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Carlisle Place is located at the intersection of 700 West and Carlisle Ave. (3800 South). “We are thrilled to introduce the affordable and beautifully designed townhomes of Carlisle Place,” said John Aldous, President of Hamlet Homes. “As Hamlet’s 36th community since our founding in 1994, we believe Carlisle Place not only appeals to a broad demographic of homebuyers, but also reflects our ongoing commitment to developing high-quality, value-priced communities that provide homebuyers with a superior experience.” Hamlet broke ground on the Carlisle Place in September 2013 and to date has sold three of its 57 three-story townhomes, with two more homes ready for immediate move in. Prices start at $193,990 for the elegant, upscale brick-and-stucco townhomes that also feature enhanced floor plans based on feedback Hamlet sought from homeowners at its Waverly Station townhome community. Adding further value are energy-efficient features such as 90 percent energy-efficient furnace, 2 x 6-foot exterior walls, low-E windows, pre-wired for future solar panel installation., Energy Star appliances, and a Passive Radon Abatement System. Each townhome is also wired with UTOPIA’s fiber optic, high-speed Internet network with available speeds up to 1 gigabit, or more than 1,000 megabits per second. Homebuyers can choose from two floor plans, the Hastings and Denton, that offer two or three bedrooms, a master bedroom with tray ceiling and walk-in closet, 2 1⁄2 baths, a private porch on the entry-level and private balcony/deck off the family room, and a two-car, attached garage. Carlisle Place is within walking distance of the Holm Park entrance to the Jordan River Parkway and has convenient transportation options via a nearby TRAX station and the I-15 freeway for quick and easy access to downtown, Wasatch Front universities, shopping centers and the airport. Golfers will also enjoy the community’s close proximity to two public executive (9-hole) courses – Central Valley Golf Course, 2.2 miles and Fore Lakes Golf Course, 2.7 miles, and one 18- hole municipal course, Meadowbrook Golf Course, 1.2 miles from Carlisle Place.

THE NAMING OF CARLISLE PLACE
Hamlet Homes has a tradition of naming its communities after Scottish people and places. For over 1700 years the town of Carlisle has occupied an important position on the Scottish-English border and bears a rich history. Few areas in the United Kingdom have produced as many notable family names in world history as the border region of Carlisle. Carlisle Castle is the most-besieged place in the British Isles and in 1568 Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned there for six weeks while her cousin Queen Elizabeth I considered a course of action. The rest is history, as they say. The canal of Port Carlisle led to industry and shipbuilding, but was soon replaced by railway – a transportation system that secured the future of the city with no less than eight busy lines, six of them remaining in operation today. Carlisle was also an official stop for the Olympic torch on its way to London’s Olympic Stadium.
In light of this great history, Hamlet has named its newest community ‘Carlisle Place’ as well as naming a single new street, Kirkbridge Avenue, in commemoration of the nearby towns that were only accessible via the railway running through Carlisle.ABOUT HAMLET HOMES
