New Utah Homebuilder Hamlet Homes was once again awarded the Utah Business Best of State 2021 award for Real Estate Development. This comes after receiving last year’s Best of State Award for the 6th time, making this seven total, and in addition to winning Utah’s Best Company to Work For and being ranked on “Housing Giants 2020 List” by Professional Builder.

This award is always important to Hamlet Homes, as it is a rigorous process in which to submit for and is reviewed by a group of highly regarded businesspeople in Utah to select the winners. Hamlet Homes is committed to excelling in the areas in which this award reviews which include areas like Innovation, Customer Experience and Community Service.

Hamlet Homes is currently building townhomes and single-family homes in multiple locations across the Wasatch front and Wasatch County – adding more communities soon. All Hamlet Homes Communities and Floorplans can be viewed on its website at www.hamlethomes.com.

Hamlet Homes promotes Tanner McCarthy to Homebuilding Supervisor. McCarthy will now supervise the construction and customer service for homes in our Wasatch County Communities.

Tanner McCarthy has worked for Hamlet Homes for just over a year as an Assistant Homebuilding Supervisor and has proven to be detailed and focused on customer service and quality in order to deliver a great experience to our Homeowners.

“Tanner brings not only industry experience, but a great personality with strong determination to deliver a great experience to every single homeowner. We are excited to have him as part of our Homebuilding Team,” says Jon Southern, Hamlet Homes COO/VP of Construction – Co-Owner.

McCarthy was brought on as an Assistant Homebuilding Supervisor. Tanner came to Hamlet from HTH Construction as the Field Operations Manager. Tanner loves golf, fishing, and spending every minute possible with his wife and daughter. They are expecting another little girl this Spring.

Hamlet Homes was chosen as one of Utah Business ‘Best Companies to Work For 2020’.

This award is not an easy one to win. Each year, Utah Business conducts surveys and talks to thousands of employees in Utah to determine which are the best companies to work for. The surveys are completely anonymous, allowing for truth-telling from employees. After hearing their honest thoughts and seeing which companies stepped it up during the pandemic, Utah Business finds the best of the best companies to work for.

Hamlet Homes was recognized in the Micro Companies Category along 10 others here in Utah. Micro-Companies have 1-50 employees and are doing things right.

“Of all the many awards Hamlet Homes has earned over our 25 years in business, this is easily the one that I am most proud of, because it means we have an amazing culture and a great place to work. By creating an environment where anyone would love to work, with All-Star teammates who love to help and support each other in every way possible, we’ve built a team of the best in the business who continue to provide a great experience for all of our homeowners. That is what makes for homebuyers who will refer us to their friends and a successful long-term business.” Said Barry Gittleman, Hamlet Homes President/CEO/Owner

We know culture is important and we do everything we can to make work a place that our team loves to come every day. Hamlet Homes recently moved into a brand-new state-of-the-art Corporate Office in which features an open workspace, but with the right amount of privacy. Each Hamlet Team Member was able to select the colors, designs and features of their own workspaces.

The office also features a “lounge” area with TV, library and a custom massage chair, a Hamlet Café that has a snack bar, stocked fridge and ongoing Team Member tournaments at the Ping-Ping Table and Foosball Table. Hamlet Team Members can also “Ring-the-Bell” in the office when GREAT things happen to acknowledge milestones and successes and can reap the rewards from Spinning the Wheel of prizes where they can win things like Gift Cards, Dinner and a Movie or even cash bonuses. In addition, every Team Member is eligible for the Net Income Bonus program. If the company meets or exceeds its net income budget in any month, every employee receives a $100 bonus.

This is all in addition to many fun company parties and celebrations – we are always looking for ways to celebrate around here. We are also always looking to find ways to give back. We believe in purpose and are strongly committed to giving back to our community individually and as a team.  As a company we have partnered with The National Ability Center, the Utah Food Bank, The Red Cross, Big Sisters Big Brothers, Habitat for Humanity, and we host an annual Sub for Santa Campaign. Individually, our Team Members support many organizations that are close to their heart. Individually, our Team Members support many organizations that are close to their heart.

Specifically, our veterans. Our company proudly employs US Veterans from the top down and look to serve them when and where we can. We offer discounts on our homes to US Veterans and believe strongly in supporting them as they have supported us.

We are members of most of the local Chamber of Commerce in each of the cities we have communities in, so that we can participate and volunteer in city events and neighborhood programs and help build more than just homes, so that we can make a lasting impact in those communities.

Hamlet Homes offers a competitive compensation package that includes a health insurance plan as well as a health savings account (HSA), dental, vision, life insurance and a 401K retirement plan and offers a 6% discount on the purchase of a new Hamlet Home.

Hamlet also believes in the importance of training and education for all employees.  In an effort to encourage employees to participate in learning experiences, especially those relevant to their work, Hamlet provides the following education reimbursement program. An employee who has worked at least one year for the company is eligible for 25% tuition and books reimbursement for any qualified educational expenses with a maximum of $ 3,500 per fiscal year.

But overall, we offer flexibility to live life to the fullest. Not only do we want to give our Homeowners a Great Experience, but we want our Hamlet Team to have, too.

Hamlet Homes celebrates its Partners at 25-Year Company Anniversary Celebration – Social Distance Style.

In lieu of their Partner Banquet, due to COVID group restrictions, Hamlet Homes was not about to pass on saying thank you to their partners in 2020, so they put on a Parking Lot Food Truck Event, providing lunch to all of their partners for free. The event allowed for much social distancing and still gave the Hamlet Homes Team a chance to say thank you to their very important partners. From their Subcontractors, to their Investors, Bankers, City Officials and more, all of whom have helped make Hamlet Homes the Great Homebuilder they are.

And to top off the day, Hamlet Homes hosted an incredible Military Flyover from a former Navy Pilot named Skip, whom took to the air in a T6 straight from the Commemorative Air Force Museum in Heber City and made it’s appearance over Hamlet Homes Corporate Office just around Noon. Flying in the plane with Pilot Skip, was Amber Larsen, a Hamlet Homes Sales Representative who was selected from a group of Hamlet Employees to ride along.

“I had such an amazing day flying all over the valley with Skip,” states Amber Larsen, Hamlet Homes Sales Representative. “Flying in a 1943 plane that was used in WWII felt patriotic and gave me one of the best memories I’ll ever have. Thanks Hamlet Homes!”

The Flyover added just the right touch to an event that also included the Salt Lake VET Center, which is located in the Hamlet Corporate Office Building. Hamlet Homes prides itself on its being a Veteran Owned Business and taking care of our veteran employees and customers.

In addition to celebrating their Partners, Hamlet Homes wanted to do something to acknowledge the incredible team they have in this 25th Year of Business by celebrating on the exact day of its anniversary. Hamlet Homes was incorporated on October 20th, 1995, a year after the original company, Hamlet Development, was incorporated by Founder, Michael Brodsky. Hamlet Development and Hamlet Homes worked side-by-side to both develop land opportunities and build new neighborhoods throughout Utah.

In 2017, four of Hamlet Homes executives purchased Hamlet Homes from Brodsky. Sharing in new ownership of Hamlet Homes is Barry Gittleman, President and CEO, Jon Southern, VP of Construction and COO; Phil Mosher, VP of Sales; and Elliot Jenkins, VP and CFO. The group has been taking all of the great qualities of the company up until now and adding in the things they know will take Hamlet Homes successfully into the next 25 years: Innovation, adaptability, thoughtful design, and hiring great people to lead this next generation.

“You do not stay in business for 25 years without providing a quality product and great customer service.” Says Barry Gittleman, President/CEO/Owner – Hamlet Homes. “We have achieved this milestone through the hard work and dedication of our associates and our culture of customer service that exists throughout our entire organization.

We have dedicated ourselves to 25 years of product innovation and building beautiful homes and neighborhoods in Utah. I would also like to thank our employees, customers and partners. Without them, we would not exist. Our partners are family and our employees are the best in the business. I am so proud of what we’ve accomplished over the past 25 years.”

Taking this all into consideration, Hamlet Homes has built its company on the foundation of good ethics, quality products, and outstanding customer service. And for 25 years now – celebrating that huge milestone this year – that has got us to where we are today. Surviving the recession and continuing to do business with a solid foundation.

But, with new ownership, an adapting culture and a more vibrant, younger and deliberate mindset, Hamlet Homes has set its goals to become not just a homebuilder – but be THE source for your homebuying needs and wants.

Sunny Richardson was recently promotion to Purchasing Manager before serving both as a Purchasing Agent and then Senior Purchasing Agent. Sunny was born and raised in San Diego and graduated from California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo) with a degree in structural engineering.

Sunny worked as a Project Engineer, Preconstruction Assistant, and Estimator for a couple general contractors in San Francisco and San Diego.

After getting married, Sunny and her husband decided to move out of state. They settled on Utah to fulfill their goals of buying a home and living somewhere with seasons. HAMLET HOMES CELEBRATES 25TH ANNIVERSARY

When one thinks about building a new home – it is both exciting and scary at the same time.
This endeavor is not an easy one. It is by far the biggest purchase you will ever make, but an investment that can do so much more than provide a roof over your head. It is a place to create memories, grow a family, begin a new chapter in your life, but most of all, it’s a place to call HOME. Where you come home to, take off your shoes and breathe a sigh of relief that you are there. It’s YOUR place.

Taking this all into consideration, Hamlet Homes has built its company on the foundation of good ethics, quality products, great build times and customer service. And for 25 years now – celebrating that huge milestone this year – that has got us to where we are today. Surviving the recession and continuing to do business with a solid set of bones. But, with new ownership, an adapting culture and a more vibrant, younger and deliberate mindset, Hamlet Homes has set its goals to become not just a homebuilder – but be THE source for your homebuying needs and wants.

Sharing in new ownership of Hamlet Homes IV alongside Barry Gittleman, President and CEO, is Jon Southern, Vice President of Construction and COO; Phil Mosher, Vice President of Sales; and Elliot Jenkins, Vice President and CFO. The group purchased the company in 2017 and have been refining what that looks like ever since. The company celebrated its 25th Anniversary Celebration at its companies Annual Employee Summer Party this past weekend.

HAMLET HOMES UNVEILS COMMUNITY MURAL IN CELEBRATION OF GRANTON SQUARE AND CORPORATE OFFICE GRAND OPENING

Hamlet Homes is proud to announce the unveiling of a community mural wall at the grand opening of Granton Square and the new Hamlet Homes headquarters on Friday, November 1st at noon, located at 84 West 4800 South, Murray, Utah. Following the ribbon-cutting and unveiling, guests can stay to observe notable members of the community — including city officials, Hamlet Homes owners and employees, and involved muralists — paint a fish onto the mural. Attendees can also tour the new model home and corporate offices, partake in free entrees and desserts from three different food trucks, and take home giftbags and giveaway prizes.

“Moving our headquarters to a modern building marks a new day for Hamlet Homes,” states Barry Gittleman, President/COO and Owner of Hamlet Homes. “We knew we needed to celebrate our new ownership with a splash, and we are thrilled to have the opportunity to do that in collaboration with Murray City. We know great things are on the horizon for Hamlet Homes!”

Many years ago, on this same property stood what locals refer to as “The Fish Food Factory.” An iconic Murray landmark, The Fish Factory was demolished following a fire in 2015. To keep the local history intact, muralist David Habben, of HABBENINK, used this historical inspiration for his amazing artistic details in the Granton Square Mural. Thanks to supply donations from RMC Painting and PPG Paints, the mural — a 286’ wide and 20’ tall masterpiece — is soon to be an icon itself for the Murray community.

“When we began developing Granton Square, we faced the challenge of making a big, solid gray cinder block wall enhance the community aesthetic,” says Tami Ostmark, Vice President of Marketing for Hamlet Homes. “We got creative, pulled the community together, and now, the Granton Square Mural Wall is one of the biggest community projects we have accomplished. It will leave a long-standing legacy for Hamlet Homes.”

Granton Square is Hamlet Homes’ newest townhome community — the fourth of five communities Hamlet opened in 2019 alone. The neighborhood boasts 61 three-bedroom townhomes in a central Murray location. Homes features a large open floorplan, a spacious two-car garage, and highly coveted rooftop deck options highlighted by astounding views of both the mountains and city.

“We are very pleased to have Granton Square, another quality Hamlet Homes development, here in Murray City,” says Murray City Mayor, Blair Camp. “This new community will provide homes for individuals and families who want to be a part of the Murray community in this convenient location. In addition, Hamlet’s new corporate headquarters is a magnificent addition to this previously underutilized property. Congratulations on another excellent development in our city!”

Sharing the spotlight for the grand opening is the new headquarters of Hamlet Homes. The move launches a fresh beginning for Hamlet Homes’ new owners, including Barry Gittleman, President and COO; Jon Southern, Vice President of Construction; Phil Mosher, Vice President of Sales; and Elliot Jenkins, Vice President and CFO. The group purchased the company in 2017 and have been refining what that looks like ever since. Hamlet Homes will celebrate the opening of five new communities of townhomes and single-family homes in 2019 alone.
