CITY OF SOUTH SALT LAKE, UT (September 17, 2013) – Officials from Hamlet Homes (www.hamlethomes.com) and the City of South Salt Lake broke ground today on a new townhome community called Carlisle Place located at the intersection of 700 West and Carlisle Ave. (3800 S.), in the City of South Salt Lake. Starting at $188,990, the community will consist of fifty-seven (57), three-story townhomes featuring an elegant upscale brick-and-stucco exterior and enhanced interior floor plans and design features.

THE NAMING OF CARLISLE PLACE

Hamlet Homes has a tradition of naming its communities after Scottish people and places. MILLCREEK, UT (March 11, 2013) – Reflecting the Salt Lake market’s strong demand for new homes, Hamlet Homes’ newest community, Kenmure Place in Millcreek, has sold four of the subdivision’s 20 homes since opening the community’s model home, February 16. Located at 4460 Gordon Lane (400 East), Kenmure Place is nestled in an attractive, wooded area of Millcreek just off 4500 South. The Naming of Kenmure Place

Hamlet Homes has a tradition of naming its communities after Scottish people and places. In keeping with that tradition, research was conducted on The Gordon Clan of Scotland. The Gordon Clan lived a mile south of the village of New Galloway in a place called Kenmure Castle. William Gordon of Kenmure was made famous by a poem written by Sir Walter Scott, known as The Ballad of Young Lochinvar. EIGHT AFFORDABLE UNITS IN BEAR HOLLOW VILLAGE RELEASED FOR SALE BY HAMLET HOMES

Hamlet now accepting contracts for Bear Claw Condominium at Bear Hollow

PARK CITY, UTAH (March, 2008) — Hamlet Homes announced that it is releasing eight units for sale in Bear Hollow Village in the condominiums building located in Bear Claw. The condominiums are affordable housing units specifically for families whose income does not exceed $64,960 a year—80 percent of the Summit County area median income.

Bear Claw’s eight homes, along with two more that will be built in a future section of the Lodge Condominiums, represent a total of 32 affordable housing units Hamlet will build at Bear Hollow.

Hamlet Homes has constructed and sold 22 of the 32 affordable housing units in Bear Hollow to date. To place the affordable housing units into the market, Hamlet subsidized the cost of these homes by more than $900,000. In addition, these homes were sold at a discount of over $1.7 million to their actual market value.

Located on Oslo Lane, the Bear Claw building contains four one-bedroom condominiums and four two-bedroom condominiums. Prices for the one-bedroom condominiums are $140,363; the two-bedroom condominiums are $221,000. Homebuyers have the option of two floor plans, the Lone Peak and the Twin Peak.

The interior of the homes includes one or two bedrooms, one full bath, solid oak cabinets, GE Energy Star appliances, no-wax vinyl floors and carpet. Exterior features include maintenance-free Hardiplank siding by James Hardie. HAMLET HOMES’ ANNUAL EMPLOYEE COMPETITION RAISES MORE THAN $25,500 FOR AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY’S RELAY FOR LIFE

Winning team to eat steak dinner, while losing teams eat beans

PARK CITY, UTAH (August 22, 2007) – Hamlet Homes annual employees supported and participated in the American Cancer Society’s (ACS) Relay for Life August 17 – 18 by raising more than $25,500 with their ‘Steak or Beans’ contest.

“Hamlet Homes strives to be involved in the local community and has identified several non-profit organizations to support year after year, one of which is the American Cancer Society and their Relay for Life event,” says David Irwin, vice president and director of sales and marketing for Hamlet Homes. “The Relay for Life is an opportunity for everyone to participate in the fight against cancer by raising funds for cancer prevention and awareness. This year, Hamlet employees were able to exceed their goal of raising at least $15,000.”

This was Hamlet’s third-annual “Steak or Beans” contest wherein three departments—homebuilding, sales and administration—competed against one another to raise the most money for the ACS. During an upcoming awards dinner, the winning Hamlet team will be treated to a steak dinner while the losing teams will eat beans!

The employees supported their teams and collaborated to raise the money through a combination of activities, such as bidding contests for helicopter training or a granite countertop, dunking supervisors in dunk tanks and raffling tickets for prizes. Employees also contributed personal funds and asked friends, neighbors and business associates to donate as well.

Approximately 50 employees and family members showed up and supported the Relay for Life overnight campout at Quinn’s Junction Sports Complex, August 17-18, starting at 6 p.m. and continuing until 6 a.m. the next day. Hamlet also entered a relay team of 15 employees who took turns walking and running around a track during specified times – the implication being that cancer never sleeps.

In the end, the Park City Relay for Life raised over $105,000 with Hamlet as the top fundraiser. Hamlet also donated $10,000 as a statewide sponsor of the relay.

“Even though raising the money was a competitive event at Hamlet, all of the employees had fun and did a great job in supporting the American Cancer Society,” Irwin adds. “It was inspiring to see our employees go above and beyond their day-to-day work activities to pull together as a team and significantly focus on one key goal.”

HAMLET HOMES APPLAUDS DRAPER CITY FOR PROTECTING ITS CITIZENS

Hamlet to proceed with final phase of its Stoneleigh Heights Community at SunCrest

Draper, Utah (July 30, 2007) – Acknowledging Draper City’s concern for the safety of its residents and home owners, Hamlet Homes praised the Draper City Council’s recent approval to develop the final phase of its Stoneleigh Heights community at SunCrest. The approval came following Hamlet’s extensive analyses of geological and slope stability in the Stoneleigh Heights Community to assure the safety and investment of homebuyers.

“Because of concerns raised by members of the Draper City Council, Hamlet Homes was asked to conduct significant additional geological investigations to determine that we were, in fact, building under the safest conditions,” said Michael Brodsky, CEO of the Hamlet companies. “While our initial geological analyses had assured us of the stability of this area, we dedicated ourselves to working with Draper City to provide them with the additional data they requested. In the wake of media coverage about failing hillsides in Draper, the city’s extensive entitlement requirements demonstrate its care for its citizens’ safety.”

Throughout the extended process, an independent consultant hired by Draper City provided independent review of Hamlet’s geologic study. The thorough process included extensive trenching into the earth, soil borings and detailed analysis of existing geologic configurations. Careful scientific measures taken during this nearly year-long effort, led experts to conclude that the proposed development area is not underlain with historic landslides, contrary to published reports about other areas within Draper city limits.

“Hamlet Homes deserves our recognition for conducting a very thorough investigation,” said Councilmember Bill Colbert. “The extensive analysis found no evidence of any slide risk.”

With the city’s approval marking the end of a challenging and difficult entitlement process, Hamlet’s development team is quickly mobilizing to prepare the site for home building. The city’s request for additional geologic studies has pushed back the release of this final phase of Hamlet’s Stoneleigh Heights community by almost one year.

“Now that Draper City Council is completely satisfied this site meets the highest safety standards, it has reached out to assist us in moving forward with the building process as expeditiously as possible,” added Brodsky. “We applaud their unfailing standards and their assistance now as we move forward in completing this dynamic community.”

Stoneleigh Heights has been a tremendously successful community for Hamlet Homes, having built and closed more than 120 townhomes. Breathtakingly beautiful view corridors and the award-winning design of the Stoneleigh Heights townhomes have been very well received by the public.
